Yep,you're right! Xristos is the word for "Christ" in Greek. So, "X" in "X'mas" is simply "Christ" in "Christmas." Haha! :)
Oops, there was a typo in the word "Nativity," and I've corrected it.:P Besides Jesus, there are more people and other things in the Nativity. You may look for more info about it now.

((Ball Ornaments))

Christmas ornaments are
decorations (usually made of glass, metal, wood or ceramics) that are used to festoon a Christmas tree.

Ornaments take many different forms, from a simple round ball to highly artistic designs. Ornaments are almost always reused year after year

((Nativity))

The Nativity refers to the birth of Jesus. According to biblical accounts, Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary, assisted by her husband Joseph, in the city of Bethlehem. The birth took place in a stable, surrounded by farm animals, and the infant Jesus was laid in a manger. Shepherds from the fields surrounding Bethlehem were told of the birth by an angel, and were the first to see the child. Christians believe that the birth of Jesus fulfilled many prophecies made hundreds of years before his birth.

Live Nativity scenes are also performed in some areas, using actors and live animals to portray the event with more realism.

Zenobia, thanks for sharing with us the history of the Nativity! It'd be of great help if you could conclude what is in the Nativity by listing names of the people and things.:)

As for ball ornaments, these decorations carry some deeper meaning. You may try looking for it.^_^

Cheng Ying, glad you pointed out this topic--Xmas, X'mas or X-mas? Do a search of these words on Google, and you'll find out people use these three forms of Christmas. Maybe it's the result of "Accumulation of errors makes correctness." "Xmas," undoubtedly, is the grammatically correct form of Christmas.:)
